Fees at the USGS Optical Science Lab to Go Up

By • Jan 7th, 2011 • Category: Highlights, News

The RST Project received approval from the USGS Director’s Office to increase the reimbursable fees charged for camera calibration services provided by the USGS Optical Science Laboratory (OSL) at Reston, Virginia. The last increase was 2005 with the new pricing based on a review of current and anticipated costs and workload at the OSL. The RST Project considered many factors in this revision, including supplies, labor, reduced workflow, and a rapidly-evolving aerial imaging industry and community. The fee increase will take effect for work initiated on February 1, 2011 and will allow the OSL to remain a fully-reimbursable activity.
