RST Project supports global quality standards for earth observation data

By • Dec 19th, 2011 • Category: Aerial, News, Satellite

Through its involvement in the Committee on Earth Observing Satellites (CEOS) Working Group on Calibration and Validation (WGCV), the USGS Remote Sensing Technologies (RST) Project has strongly supported the development of common standards to assure the quality of earth observing data. These standards, known as QA4EO – Quality Assurance for Earth Observation – are under development by experts from the USGS RST project and from national agencies around the world. A brief overview of the development of the QA4EO effort written by Marie-Claire Greening, under contract to the USGS RST Project, can be seen at: http://www.ceos.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=351.
